Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented Head Chef to lead the culinary operations at our busy location in West Broadway, Vancouver. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a proven track record in high-volume kitchen management, team development, and maintaining superior standards of quality and consistency. As the Head Chef, you will be instrumental in driving the kitchen's success, managing all back-of-house operations, and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the back-of-house team, fostering a culture of accountability and culinary excellence.
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and quality control to ensure adherence to our high standards.
- Develop and implement efficient kitchen processes to optimize workflow and minimize waste.
- Manage food and labor costs effectively, working within budgetary guidelines to achieve financial targets.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience.
- Train and develop kitchen staff, providing ongoing feedback and opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or senior culinary leader in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in kitchen financial management, including costing, and inventory control.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse culinary team.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a calm, professional demeanor under pressure.
- A passion for creating high-quality food and a commitment to operational consistency.
- Food Safe Level 1 & 2 certification is required.
