Hotel General Manager – Hilton Airport Property
Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year, plus performance bonus and benefits
Gecko Hospitality is recruiting an experienced Hotel General Manager on behalf of a modern, award-winning Hilton airport property.
This full-service hotel features over 120 rooms, a fitness centre, saltwater pool, restaurant and bar, banquet facilities, and multiple meeting spaces. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished hotel leader to oversee an experienced team and join a growing hospitality organization.The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing the overall operations, financial performance, sales, and guest experience of a branded hotel. We are looking for a visible, hands-on leader who can build a positive workplace culture, develop team members, uphold Hilton brand standards, and consistently deliver strong operational and financial results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for all hotel departments.
  • Ensure each department operates efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with established budgets.
  • Develop, coach, and motivate department leaders and team members.
  • Create a positive, accountable, and guest-focused workplace culture.
  • Review financial statements and operating reports and take ownership of the hotel’s performance against budget.
  • Identify areas of concern and implement strategies to improve revenue, profitability, and operational results.
  • Participate in annual budget planning, forecasting, expense management, and capital planning.
  • Oversee accounts receivable standards and ensure aging remains current.
  • Support hotel sales efforts, including corporate account development, community networking, group business, marketing initiatives, and pricing strategies.
  • Work closely with the sales team to attract, qualify, and retain corporate and group business.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of revenue management practices, systems, and market conditions.
  • Ensure all employees receive the training required for their positions under Hilton brand standards and company procedures.
  • Conduct regular meetings with department heads and maintain open communication across the hotel.
  • Oversee recruitment, employee development, performance management, retention, and other hotel-level human resources functions.
  • Ensure compliance with Hilton brand standards, Quality Assurance audits, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and local employment, health, safety, and accessibility requirements.
  • Protect the hotel and its assets through effective preventative maintenance and risk-management programs.
  • Coordinate capital improvement projects to maintain property standards, enhance the hotel’s image, and protect the asset.
  • Monitor guest feedback and reputation-management channels, responding to concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the property and set a consistently professional example for the team.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of three to five years of progressive hotel management experience, including senior leadership responsibility.
  • Previous experience managing the overall operations of a branded hotel.
  • Hilton experience is strongly preferred; experience with Marriott or another major hotel brand will also be considered.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and financial statement analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel revenue management principles and systems.
  • Demonstrated success in hotel sales, business development, and community engagement.
  • Food and beverage management experience is considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain a high-performing team.
  • A genuine passion for providing an exceptional guest experience.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with hotel operating systems and standard business software.
  • Degree or diploma in Hotel or Hospitality Management is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the operational needs of the hotel.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
